requesting identification as initially settled on peg 1st Feb, not moved since though temperatures around 35c. yesterday managed to catch into plastic container, brought inside. It was moving around this morning so I took it back outside and it is still sitting on open container, not moving
Any ideas what to do with it, feed and what it is??? please
They are thought to feed on nectar in flowers. The pattern seems ambiguous, and I cannot see the antennae, so not sure of the sex (feathery = male). In an open container (say covered in fabric), he/she may emit pheromones calling the other sex which could be exciting, or if female she may lay you some eggs.
