Yes, it’s a bit ambiguous.
I suggested Cyperus eragrostis because of the bracts, and colour, and because I have seen individual Cyperus eragrostis that have been grazed ( rabbits, Roos) and then developed slightly distorted inflorescences looking more like Carex than Cyperus ( as in main photo).
But looking at the second photo more carefully, it looks more like Carex than Cyperus ( to me).

It's growing on my property so I can get some more detailed photos if that might help?

I think the closeup of the inflorescence confused me, i'm used to seeing this species on a different angle. I think the three distinct clusteres makes it unlikely to be Cyperus in hindsight
