This part of Blewitt's patch was degraded but even in this state it was still used by many bird species you are unlikely to see in the suburbs. This area was also a raptor hunting ground for black shouldered kites, kestrels and even the little eagle, listed as 'vulnerable' mainly due to human encroachment.
