Hi Michael - what resource would you recommend to try this? I find Euclid will give either 100 species or 0 species!

My best guess is viminalis, but the bark on the trunk doesn't match?

I associate this as E. viminalis: Eucalyptus viminalis (Ribbon Gum)

I the bark on these trees is very different. Leaves me well confused (pun intended)

Also, the moss growing on the trunk implies this tree does not shed its bark regularly. So I don't think that is consistent with E. viminalis. My next guess would be E. fastigata, but that is based solely on the bark, which I can't differentiate from broad-leafed peppermint anyway.

Went back today. Crushed leaves are not sticky. Strong peppermint smell.
