Apologies for the terrible images. These were opportunistic images taken from some distance with a macro lens of a Wallaby at the ANBG grazing in the shade. The Wallaby was very lethargic and appeared to have mange. There were clearly visible bare skin patches around the neck, on one side and on the tail.

Morning, thanks for the images. Good to have them even though a little rough. Could you see the eyes clearly enough to determine if they were clear or clouded or cataract looking? Obviously in the pics they've come out red.

No, we couldn't see the eyes clearly from that distance. (The red eyes are due to the camera flash which just happened to be turned on at the time). The wallaby was noticeably lethargic, taking very little interest in us unlike previous wallaby sightings at ANBG. It eventually moved away from us at a slow walking pace rather than taking off in leaps and bounds. The general impression was of a sick animal.

He certainly looks like an aged fella. In addition to lethargy, he may have had some eye issues if he wasn't very reactionary to you. Interesting if he had mange or rather poor coat and skin quality with age. Would certainly love more photos if you see him around again, particularly if you can get some clearer ones of the eyes.
