Yes there was a sighting nearby in Griffith (NE direction) - see distribution map of the species' sightings, but we have strong winds today. They can been blown about I expect.
Ian the nearest sighting is more than 500m away with a lot of houses and trees in the way. Well done Alex the first endangered speciesrecorded in Griffith Woodland.
I saw several flying in the central area between the north and south lanes of Canberra Avenue opposite Manuka Oval, and another on the footpath outside the entranceway to Manuka Pool, on 31 October.
Just seen another golden sun moth in a different area of the woodland, much less windy today, so can be more confident Griffith Woodland is a sun moth habitat :-)
