Several hundred plants at the bottom of a flat gully in (montane?) forest. I'm thinking this is Senecio garlandii, but I am not confident in my assessment. I tried using Betty Wood's new lucid key and it put me in Senecio. I am basing my ID of this largely on the photos in the key, and the description provided.
I didn't take any samples for ID, so I only have my crude photos to work with.
Senecio garlandii only occurs on the Western Slopes. If you had restricted the search to dry or wet forest it would not have been a hit. Do you have any in focu photos of the leaves? That would help in the ID.
I uploaded this via the app with 5 images. I think there may be a bug because multiple sightings I have uploaded today have done the same thing. I have uploaded the other images (including the leaves). I hope the photos I have are in focus. I was conscious of taking good leaf photos, but I had to keep pressing on so I just did a few quick photos.
I now get 4 Senecio species, and I am leaning towards S. linearifolius.
