Hi Harrisi. Just noticed you uploaded several Castiarina spp. with very similar patterning and colouration. Is there a reason they share the same patterning, like mimicry of a species toxic to predators?
Hi MattM. One of the several Castiarina spp. I recently uploaded was a lycid mimic. The other are all trifasciate and this patterning is quite effective in a range of foliage and flowers where you often find them, despite their sometimes bold and bright colouration. I can ask one next time I am in the field if you like?
