I flagged Rawshorty's sighting as significant too but it still hasn't shown up on the homepage, however it does show it as significant on the sighting page.

Thanks Luke, yes I noticed that Shorty's significant did not show on the front page, I wonder if he received an email for his significant sighting as we didn't receive an email, we did use to get them. Ours is showing on the front page but Shorty's significant still does not show hopefully that will be sorted for him. Sure is amazing some of the birds that are coming in to Canberra every now and then, really nice to see these rare and endangered species as Liam mentioned above.

Thanks Rod and Deb, I'm not sure about the alerts and Shorty's sighting, I assume it's some sort of glitch in the system. Yes it's certainly great to see lots of interesting birds, especially those that are rare and threatened.

Hey guys, when Christine got the text from Steve who had spotted and id'ed the bird we were only a few seconds from the hide and i thought no one else that posts on here had seen it so hence my post. After seeing Deb had posted here i deleted my post as it has no value being at roughly the same time and same day.

Hi Shorty, I did see your post and I think you should have left it as the photo was clearer but understand your reasoning. I also try not to post a sighting if it has already been posted as I agree it adds no scientific value. Regards.

Hi Shorty, I wish you hadn't pulled your sighting as it is a rare bird and with a different photo. Certainly did not realize adding our sighting would cause you to delete yours. Surely there is room for both. I was so happy with getting a photo of this rare bird so naturally wanted to add it to our local Canberra Nature Map.
