Yes, I thought of that too, and maybe jumped too quickly. I'm still not certain either way, and have to flee the computer.

Ian and I jumped out of the blocks at a fast pace, in different directions, and both wrong. The linear antennae rule out Nisista which has clearly bipectinate antennae, and the lack of heavily scaled upturned labial pal[pi rules out Orthaga (Epipaschiinae). A closer look shows long thin forward pointing labial palpi as well as heavy scale crests on the thorax - characteristic of some Noctuidae and Erebidae.

I had inititially ruled out C. hades on a superficial basis, I now agree its correct.
