User's notes

Sighted on a handrail in ANBG's Rainforest Gully and appeared to be attracted to a drop of liquid on the handrail. 6mm body length. Unsure what type of insect this is.

I asked Roger Farrow to comment on this one. He said:

Thanks Michael I had a look on ALA at Euander lacertosus but agree with Roger - we need an expert to confirm. The wing pattern is rather different, the body on this one is shiny and the wings too short. I'm still uncertain - definitely Lygaeidae though.
