This is probably Polyrhachis ammon, but can't quite see well enough to be sure as it doesn't show very strong golden colour on back.

Thanks Jon. I have quite a lot of more detailed macro photos taken recently our property of what I think are P. ammon plus what might be other Polyrhachis species. I will post them next when I get the chance. I actually have a lot of macro ant photos to post, so stay tuned!
