NRF055: Naas Valley Fire Trail 1 surveys

Remote FW site, part of a 6 site cluster, close to Mt Clear area/Boboyan Rd : MTC100, MTC121, MTC122, MTC051-  NRF052, NRF055

 Post fire site

Use mountain bike or 4WD from Mt Clear Campground, follow access road back to Naas Valley fire trail (turn right out of campground carpark rd. Will shortly come to locked gate (either key access or bike). Follow Naas Valley fire trail for 9.8km (1.5km beyond Horse Gully hut) to get to the sitre. This route includes a number of river crossings. Look for a culvert /large pipe under the road. Park, follow the overgrown creek/drainage channel- some scrambling involved for 20 m until you come to the creek. Creek has plenty of large rocks. 

Return the way you came to Mt Clear Campground.

Camp at Mt Clear Campground for two nights to do this cluster (MTC122, MTC051, MTC100, MTC121 (one night), NRF052, NRF055 (other night) or altrnatively camp second night at Horse Gully Hut. NRF055 is 1.5 km from Hut and NRF052 6 km from Hut, Hut is 8.5 km from locked gate
