Yeah sweet, both grow together in these forests from what I can tell. Unfortunately phyllode morphology seems to be variable.

I was about to say it is not A. buxifolia. Phyllodes 4-6cm long, 8-15mm wide. Previous sighting Acacia penninervis var. penninervis (Hickory Wattle) has discussion it is not A. penninervis because of bright yellow flowers, and possibility of A. obtusata. The plants are on track away from Erindale Drive but could have been introduced. I have not investigated the roadside plantings.
