Glyphipterix meteora (A Sedge Moth)
Glyphipteryx chrysoplanetis and G. meteora are similar looking moths that are aften found feeding on flowers.
G. chrysoplanetis has two light patches on the basal half of the trailing edge of the forewing - they do not extend across the wing to the leading edge. There are seven small light hatches spread along the leading edge, some of them turning refectively silver towards the middle of the wing. In fresh moths the light marks are yellow, but they wear to white.
In G. meteora, the 2 light patches extend further into the middle of the wing, and meet up with light hatches on the leading edge. The light hatches along the leading edge are wider than for G. chrysoplanetis, and there are 6 of them. The light marks on G. meteora are generally white.
