Looks more like a whistler to me

I think it is the angle of the head Ryu. I contemplated whistler but then thought the tail was too long and the tail shape more like a thrush. But happy to hear from others... Alison, have you got any comments about any calls you heard etc.

I also initially thought whistler but the call was more like a shrikethrush.

I agree with Ryu on the Whistler suggestion. Definitely doesn't look like a Shrikethrush.

Happy to go with your suggestion, especially as there were two and I rarely see two Shrikethrushes. I did hear it call. It wasn't a whistle but on listening to the Shrikethrush call on the COG website, it wasn't quite like that either. I decided to go with Shrikethrush to be on the safe side since it didn't give the distinctive whistle call.

I'm pretty confident so with Luke's backing, I'm going to go ahead an confirm it. Thanks for the additional comments Alison.
