probably turn out to be a Cabbage White but it looked different and quite big. It did not settle at all and flew around fairly fast up and down. There was no sign of any other yellow/white butterflies.

Unfortunately it's a Cabbage White... the best way to separate these species is by the location of the dots on the forewing. Our region is currently seeing some of the less common migrants moving through, so do keep looking in case one of them does turn out to be a Yellow Albatross!

Thanks Suzi, yep we keep looking, still nowhere near as many butterflies around so hope it won't affect their populations drastically for next year also.
