Chris if you measure the circumference at breast height, John Banks at the ANU has established from the study of tree rings, a relationship between trunk size and age, so that an approximate age of the tree can be provided. Looking at this trunk it seems to be a 300 year old + tree

Hi Chris
I'm just wondering about the location, with is in the middle of the road, whereas the photo shows it in a paddock. It would be useful to know which side of the road the paddock is in. Can you please adjust the location?
PS there are a lot of very of very old trees on the Lanyon property, and worth recording.
