Definite ID of most species of Myriophyllum needs microscopic examination of mature seed cases. I am not sure this is Myriophyllum at all.

The leaves are far too broad for any species of Myriophyllum. But I have no idea what it can be.

Hi Betty, there are 2 types of leaves here, and the fine leaves look just like Myriophyllum.

This is definitely Myriophyllum verrucosum: leaf colour, shape and habit, are all collectively diagnostic.
the Potamogeton leaves in the background are Potamogeton crispus.
