User's notes
I wondered if the bird was looking for a convenient broken branch or thorn-like protrusion on the tree to act as a hook so the bird could more easily tear at the lizard’s flesh. Once the butcherbird was doing something on a vertical branch but its beak was behind the branch and I could not move around to obtain a better shot. The lizard emerged still in one piece so I am not sure the bird had found its “hook”.
