User's notes

About 40 fruiting Sweet Briars in Justice Robert Hope Park some taller then 2 m. ACT Government declared JRHP an offset site for the destruction of nearby grassy woodland. There were other woody weeds such as firethorns as well as patches with lots of herbaceous weeds such as flowering and fruiting thistles and Paterson's Curse.

Thanks Waltraud will bring these woody weeds to the attention of the offset team. Re Rose it is hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the fruit stems lack prickles and hence this is most likely Rosa canina

will go on site to take photos of other woody weeds such as firethorn Cootamundra wattle Grevillea rosmarinifolia other Rosa sp etc. Unfortunately my mobile ran out of battery so couldn't take photos of the many weeds growing on the offset site. There are many shrubs planted in this tall grassy woodland including species that I could not id and which are most likely not local species. I'm concerned that untreated weeds including planted species not local to the grassy woodlands of mt majura will spread.
I will check the Rosa sp next time when taking more photos.
