This plant was growing in rather shaded conditions and was leaning out over the bank of the river. It would have been about 1.2 m in 'height'. The other bush I noted was probably about 75 cm in height.
I thought this might be subsp. ligustrina. However, the long obvious fringes of hairs on the bracts surrounding the flower heads are typical of subsp. ciliata.
