Author's notes

Not sure of the correct species of yabby?! Found in the stormwater drain that comes off the creek running under the Barton Highway from the nature reserve on the other side of the Highway. I took one look at the pincers and decided I was not going to have my fingers grabbed in an effort to determine what sex it is! Animal around 6" long. I recorded around 45mm of rain in my gauge four days ago and there is still a lot of water in the drain. Walked up to the creek end of the drain (towards the Highway) and it is full of water. Heard at least two if not three species of frogs singing their heads off.
