New outbreak of this highly invasive weed. Hopefully we will be able to eradicate this species

Thanks for your contribution/photo. This is a very nasty weed, one people are trying to eradicate from the ACT. I have downloaded the original photo, cropped it and added it back to help confirm the identification.

Thanks Owen - I will try and get a team out there today or in the very near future to deal with this species - I'm pretty sure it is Spanish Heath- please report any further outbreaks that you may see

Ranger Harley who specialises in invasive pests will deal with it this afternoon. Plus he will collect material for herbarium.

Thanks Owen - hopefully you report plus the quick action of Parks Staff has prevented this plant becoming a major weed on Tuggernong Hill, which would have cost us much both environmental and financially.

Agree with Michael M. This is a nice part of Tuggeranong Hill with good native understory flora, and worth looking after.

Ranger Harley found a large number of additional plants. He will get the Tuggeranong Hill Ranger to help cut/paint them this week.

All plants from this site treated and removed. The larger plants seem to indicate that the infestation has been here for some time. Lots of little seedlings and a mat of spent flowers around the large plants. The site will require ongoing work for a while. Thanks Owen for reporting this.
