Did the leaves have any smell? It looks a bit like Allium tuberosum but I don't have any sense of scale in these images.

I didn't smell the leaves. The plant was 30 - 40 cm tall, and the flowers reminded me of onion flowers. Looking at images of Allium tuberosum, I can see you may have nailed it:
