The general appearance is that of D. chryseopsis although the flowering time is very late. The other possibility is D. subalpina. They can be told apart by the number of leaves. Did you notice how many leaves there are (4-9 in D. chryseopsis)?

The photo was taken in early Oct 2003 so I asked Jeremy, as he took the photo, if he could remember. He thinks it had less than 4-9. You can sort of see two in the background of the second photo. Like the G. major it hasn't come up again. I will be uploading a number of orchid photos to CNM from our collection of photos from our property and the surrounding area. I am slowly but surely cataloguing all our nature photos. We are much more savvy now about taking photos of the orchid leaves as well! Sandra
