The empty seed capsules in image 2 does look like Calochilus, but not sure image 1 relates.

You're right. You can't actually see the base of the stalk near the leaf, but I've been seeing multiple leaves coming up near old stems.

I agree guys, I saw this leaf and immediately thought "hmm that's weird for autumn". Then within say 5 inches from it was the pollinated/dead orchid so I assume they may be related, but maybe not. Does the leaf in it's own right look like Calochilus or Thelymitra?

It looks very much like Calochilus to me, and I've been seeing leaves around known plants that are equally advanced. See e.g. http://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3375876 and http://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3375238. The Mt P one was taken back in March and those leaves are much bigger now.
