Have now removed over 5 or 6 completely separate infestations from within a wide area of the clancy's walking track. There is still another bad patch that I know about that I'll get to later this week.

Do these grow back next year if removed by the root??

good on you. Reg regrowth I don't know but i assume those plants that you removed will not grow back. I removed huge amounts of horehound that were infested with Orobanche; there was little regrowth after the removal of horehound, however i was not sure about the host plants - I observed those growing after removal of horehound hosts close to Cassinia shrubs. The hosts in Germany are various clovers. Obviously O uses a range of plant species for hosts. It is then a question of seed bank in the soil....

I read that when they are pulled out they can still flower and set seed. It is best to remove them or at least strip the flowers off so they dry out. They are widespread in Isaacs/Mugga but not dense so I am pulling them out and stripping the flowers so I hope that works. There are plenty of other weeds to worry about.

Thanks Mike I agree reg plenty of other weeds to worry about particularly St John's Wort which is really bad this year. Trouble is that StJW needs to be sprayed and unfortunately I'm the only one of the 13 FoMM people who have done chemcert training who is actively spraying. If people can control weeds by other means than spraying I won't object. Would you have an idea how to best tackle Galium aparine, Cleavers/ Sticky weeds? they went berserk this year too, smothering natives particularly on wetter / more fertile ground.
