User's notes

The Marsilea which I reported on 6 January 2016 - see http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Sighting/1974632) - has produced sporocarps. The first 3 photos show sporocarps of material which I dug out for identification, the 4th photo shows sporocarps in-situ and the last photo shows the site - the little dam has shrunk to small puddle.

I gave Isobel Crawford the material with the sporocarps for id - let's see. I think it is M. mutica given the shape of the sporocarp body, the length of the sporocarp stalk (I measured stalks 10mm+) and several sporocarps on a "branchlet".

Waltraud, thanks for taking the trouble to lodge a specimen at the Herbarium, confirming this significant find of Nardoo in the ACT, the first since 1972.
