The ACT is near the western limit of this shrub, which seems to mainly occur in the wetter forests of the coastal escarpment. There are records of 4 other locations in the ACT, two from Tidbinbilla and two from Namadgi. There is a 2014 record from Namadgi all other records predate 1965.

It never ceases to amaze me how many significant new records come from places that we thought we knew well!

The plants have come up where mature pines have been removed, suggesting the species has a very long-lived seedbank.
