Hi again JBromilow50, another pair of ants that look pretty similar. The general shape and level of fuzziness on this ant makes it C. suffusus. You can also just see in the photo that the head is darker than the body (black vs very dark red), while C. aeneopilosus is a pretty uniformly black ant in head and body.

Your ant also looks like it is a major (i.e. one of the very big soldiers/heavy workers) with large robust body and big head. Most of the photos of this species on CNM are of ordinary workers, which are more lightly built. Cheers, Jon
