Significant sighting

Known already in Kaleen area- but not at this location. This Grasshopper is listed as endangered in NSW - seems reasonably widespread in the ACT and abundant at places

User's notes

Not sure if this is Key's Matchstick Grasshopper as I've never seen one before. Brown and green morphs present. Found in mixed native pasture, dominated by Phalaris, Bothriochloa macra, and Bromus. High levels of biomass. After reading about Key's Matchstick Grasshopper online, one more note - the ones I observed had very splayed femurs when at rest.

Often difficult to separate Acrida conica nymphs from Keyacris scurra adults without a close up picture.
