Tempted to include this with the previous sighting but puzzled by the orange stripe on the abdomen. Hard to estimate the number. There were lots of robber flies along the whole fence line but hard to tell the species until looking more closely on the computer. I think I've identified three of four types.
Most species of Apothechyla show sexual dimorphism in the abdominal pattern, females having the orange tergite(s). The species in the ACT is probably A. carbo, but without specimens it is difficult to identify to species.
