User's notes

Hiding in long dry grass next to old wooden shed. I think it has been living / hiding there for a few days. The photos hidin in the grass here are the best I could get, before it went quick back inside through a small hole. it was quite long,at least 50cm, probably longer, its tail tip was hidden, so couldn't see full length & it was thinish. Some sort of lizard, as it has legs. no idea about tongue, as it didn't show it. Map marking is nearby, due to privacy reasons.

Blue Tongue. I dont know if CNM has a policy about false locations, or privacy. From your comment, I assume the true location is one of the residential blocks in the area, and that you do not want to reveal which one. Could you please at least put the false location on the correct side of the major highway?

We prefer accurate locations but if an accurate location can't be given then it is essential, as was done for this siting, that the comments provide an indication of the level of accucracy

Don/Michael, I think that most people are very happy for their address to be recorded for a sighting. You will find a lot of records for my address for example. Generally fauna never stay around for a long time. While CNM might indicate where animals may be found, it is highly unlikely that if one went to a spot where an animal was recorded it would still be observable.

Yes. I thought the record should be at least be moved onto the correct side of the highway, because highways are well known as barriers (or partial barriers) to animals such as Blue Tongues.
