Hi Christine
It is really important for ID'ing grasses that we get a flower or seed head. Poa lab is quite reasonable at the wetlands.

Hi Christine
Thanks for your contribution/photo. I have downloaded the original photo, cropped it and added it back to aid in identification.
It looks suspiciously like Nassella trichotoma (SerratedTussock).
Since it is a large patch it is worth following up to get an accurate ID.

Hi Michael, so is there something you would like me to do? I really know very little about plants... would it be worth talking to the Ranger about it?

There is no need to talk to the ranger just yet. Michael M may confirm this.
However, I notice that you visit Jerrabomberra Wetlands regularly. If Michael M hasn't confirmed, it would be worthwhile getting another photo or 2 in a months time. By then there should be flower or seed heads present.
If it is confirmed the ranger would be interested.

Thanks Michael and Christine certainly looks like serrated tussock but would like a seed head to confirm. Next time I am out that way I will have a look

Hi Michael and Michael. I have added two photos taken today, which I hope is the seed head you were after. (My adding them seems to have chanced the date of the sighting.) I apologise, I thought I had posted that I would go back, but it seems i did not complete the post. Anyway, as Michael has now confirmed this as Serrated Tussock, will the Ranger be aware, or is there a process for notifying her?

New photos change the date so it is best to make a new sighting.
When the grass has seeds one of the best ways of identifying serrated tussock is to pull the awn and look how it is attached to the seed - it is off centre on serrated tussock.

Definitely Serrated Tussock.

Concur with Mike - when you add new photos it picks up the date on the most recent photo. That is ok.

I don't know if the report will go directly to a ranger. Michael M will know.
