Although both looked like adults, the bird in photo one was feeding the bird in photo 2.

I wonder if they have a nest nearby? That sounds like breeding/courtship behaviour.

The photo 2 bird looks like a juvenile to me as it appears to have a fleshy gape and not as well-defined markings as the adult.
