This was the tiniest ant, just 2-3mm, and not posing for photos, but probably one of the clearest I have got of them so far...

Hi Christine, this is probably Ochetellus glaber, but can't be sure from the photo. It's a small blackish ant which commonly comes into houses and onto kitchen benches, as well as being pretty common in the bush. Cheers, Jon

Michael, could not this be "unidentified Ant" as there does seem to be a category for Formicidae - unidentifed Ant, rather than inconclusive??
