The only species I know in this region that has a vertical line through the eye is Peron's Tree Frog. These are plain in colour but the colour may be variable.
Yep the red is the dust/dirt was from inside of the log as the log was cut... was surprised to see a frog come out... in hindsight I should've caught it and give it a clean with water before taking the photos...
Always a great help when we are trying to id herps from photographs alone. A peek at the hind leg colours is often helpful as well if the frog is being handled anyway.
