Author's notes

Leaves up to 9cm wide. Pods 9cm by 1.5cm. At side of Long Gully Road. Probably garden escape.

Well picked. Leaves are not lobed but this does not always occur. Not a common occurrence in SE Australia.

I think it may be Judas Tree, Cercis siliquastrum, pods and leaf look like a good match and Cercis is a more common garden planting in Canberra than Bauhinia

Judas tree looks to be a better fit.

Comparison with photos, including ALA, shows this as Cercis siliquastrum. Not in ACT Plant Census but collected from Black Mountain.
