Author's notes

first saw the male entering a tree hollow and watched him dig it out for a few minutes, then moved to get a better angle and by this time there was now a female entering the tree hollow and digging it out while the male sat and watched. We watched this go on for several minutes and then left them to it. A number of times saw the male almost disappear in the hollow then bring out chunks of bark and throw it away. The female did the same thing when it was her turn.
