These were found on a Sydney Blue Gum. The last photo also has the tiny insect a Long-legged fly near it to help show the size.

These look like tiny eggs, each supported by a very fine filament - perhaps lacewing eggs.

I agree. On closer inspection I can just see the filament Heino mentions.

no did not notice any pores or gills they looked like tiny cottonbuds on a fine hair, very small.
