Author's notes

This our resident pair of Magpie-lark's latest nest was blown down overnight on 9/1/19. I think it is as least their second attempt to breed this season. Today I observed them raiding the fallen nest for nest material, so it appears they are attempting to build again.

Yes, they are building another nest nearby. Horizontal branch. E.mannifera.

I pretty sure the above-mentioned breeding attempt was also a failure. Its been a tough year for our local pair given the strong winds plus alternating wet and dry spells!
