User's notes

Two plants adjacent to mountain bike track; one plant 1 m high and wide, the other 10 cm tall. May be adventive. Herbarium specimen collected (RWP11343).

Keys out to Hibbertia ericifolia subs. ericifolia but is a more robust plant than in Tolkien's description in J. Adel. Bot Gnds vol. 26 (2013).

I spent an hour today detting my specimen, based on various keys and checking against the descriptions of all species recorded for the IBRA Southeast Highlands region. It comes out as one of two species: Hibbertia ericifolia subsp. ericifolia or Hibbertia fruticosa subsp. pilligaensis. Unfortunately all the specimens of these species in the herbarium are on loan to AD. Based on the distribution of both species and the number of matching characters, I'm calling it Hibbertia ericifolia subsp. ericifolia.
