User's notes
The lizard was seen digging the nest, however this was captured on video only, so not still shot of the digging available to upload. There are a number of similar nests in the vicinity. The following three photos were taken at 8.00pm pm the lizard had filled in the nest. One of the photos shows the scratch marks in an area a little distance from the nest. Final photo hand holding stick points to nest and scratch marks can also be seen.

Are the obvious scratch marks to draw predators attention away from the actual nest site?

I think probably just the drag marks from pulling gravel, soil and twigs etc towards itself (ie towards the nest opening). WillO.
