User's notes

Approximate location, within a stone's throw of the main road. Large dead gum tree with coconut ant colonies at base, discovered by Dr. Mulvaney.

Suzi, Roy and I had a good look for caterpillars, eggs and pupa cases but none seen - this was an area of Yellow -Box red Gum woodland and it seems that the coconut ant is widespread throughout this community in the ACT. This was the only nest we found after abut an hour of looking
