With a mixed flock of yellow-rumped thornbills, scarlet robins, double-barred finches and willie wagtail

Hi HCross, images 1 and 3 are Buff-rumped Thornbills and images 2 and 4 are Striated Thornbills. Could you please enter then as seperate sightings.

Are you sure, Natureguy? 2 and 4 look to me more like a Brown Thornbill than a Striated. Note the rufous colour of the rump and the lack of streaking on the forehead and ear coverts. I agree that 1 and 3 are Buff-rumped Thornbills.

Brown Thornbills are overall much greyer, whereas Striateds are usually yellowish. Also compare Brown Thorbill sightings at https://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Species/15160 with Striated Thornbill sightings at https://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Species/15155. Striateds also have extensive reddish-brown on their head compared with the smaller rufous forehead of the Browns.
