User's notes

The bird in the centre of photos had no crest. Could it possibly be a cockatoo/corella hybrid, or is there some other reason?

It is not a corella as it has a black bill. I don't know of a reason as to the missing crest though. Sorry :(

Ok, good to know to look at the bill colour, thanks!

The Cockatoo is likely to have Psittacine beak and feather disease (PBFD). PBFD is highly infectious viral disease. I rescued many PBFD cockatoos in the past as a volunteer. The symptom varies, but in general, they lose feathers (crest feathers, flight feathers, tail feathers etc - depending on individuals and age) and develop overgrown beak. They often look scruffy and have thin layers of feathers (typically shown in face).

Thanks. There was another cockatoo in this flock which definitely had beak and feather disease - its head was nearly bald.
