Appeared to be growing on the trunk of a tree fern.

B. patersonii for sure. Does grow in Tidbinbilla and also the Blue Range. N. billardieri may be in the ACT and would be an important find.

Thanks David, the small size of the plant (given as less than 10 cm) confused me. I expected B. patersonii to be somewhat larger given the number of fronds present.

Spore patterns are the decider. B patersonii have quite different sterile (broad) and fertile (narrow) fronds, N. billardieri have spore sori arranged in chevron like patterns.
