Very large flock for this relative newcomer to the ACT

User's notes

Likely to be the same flock (less in number) as the huge flock which we observed at Jerrabomberra Grasslands 2 weeks ago. Ryu estimated 1000+ from my video. They were in the paddock at north-west corner of Hindmarsh Dr & Monaro Hwy at first (9:40am), then gradually moved towards north-west through Eroll Kavanagh Memorial Oval, Booomanulla Oval and in the front yards around 140 Goyder St during the following 40 min. The playful Corellas (photos 3-5) were competing to grab a string from the light. They were photographed near Kyeema St while the whole flock spreading widely in the area, some eating on the grass in nearby ovals and some resting and preening in the gum trees. Hi Michael, the following link is Yumi's video recording of another larger flock of Little Corellas 2 weeks ago at Jerrabomberra Grasslands I mentioned in the notes. Ryu estimated 1500+ for that one. The video does not show the whole flock as they flew spreading widely over us but you can see most of them.
