User's notes

Small tree rather than the prostrate form usually seen. Could be different subspecies.

Mature berries would be good for gin.

Wikipedia states that subsp. alpinus is prostrate and subsp. communis is erect.

The photo of the whole plant is very dark and it is hard to work out what it is supposed to show. Can you get a better one?

I will have to try on a cloudy day. The sunlight and shadow makes it confusing. It was a single trunk with offshoots and seedlings.

I have some clearer photos of this juniper. How do I add the photos to this listing?

There are no seedlings that I could find, there are some vertical side-branches from a main branch that runs along the ground and is buried by leaf/pine litter, these verticals are actually still attached to the main tree even though they appear at first glance to be separate.

Make a new sighting and link it to this by adding the sighting number in Comments. I didn't clear any vegetation when I did the first sighting but assumed they were seedlings.
